Crazy Texas Drummer
Terms
The same wording that sits above every booking and payment control on this site, in one place. Nothing here is invented: where an answer has not been agreed yet, it says so.
Booking
Four steps and about a minute. You pick what you want and send the short form. You pay on Venmo on the next screen, which holds the slot. Brian texts you back to confirm the time and tells you exactly where to meet. Then you play. There is no portal, no account to make and nothing to install.
Everything here goes straight to Brian - no portal, no account to make. Start at the booking block on the lessons page.
Paying up front
Paying holds the slot. That is the whole reason it is asked for.
Because it holds the slot. He hauls a full kit to a park for one person, so a paid booking is what stops a Saturday morning disappearing on a no-show. It also means there is nothing to sort out at the end - you just play, and then you go home.
You pay Brian directly on Venmo. After the form you get a booking reference that looks like CTD-4KJ2, and a button that opens Venmo with the amount and that reference on it - and the reference printed large on screen with a copy button, so you can type it in yourself if Venmo does not prefill. Send it, and he matches the payment to your booking in seconds. This is a Venmo payment to Brian with a reference on it - not a card checkout, and nothing is stored on this site.
Say so in the form and he will sort it out with you directly. Card payments are being set up and will appear on this page when they are working.
If he never confirms
A booking that is not confirmed within 24 hours of your payment is refunded in full on Venmo.
Full refund on Venmo. If Brian has not confirmed your time by text within 24 hours of your payment, the money comes straight back. That promise applies to every prepaid item on this site.
Cancelling and rescheduling
Give 24 hours notice and it moves, free. Less than that and the lesson is charged, except for genuine illness, which is always waived. Rain or extreme heat move it free as well, no notice needed.
Reschedule free up to 24 hours before. Rain or heat: we reschedule, no charge.
Weather
An outdoor lesson is never lost to weather. Rain, lightning or a heat index above 105F means a free reschedule or the named covered backup location, agreed with you at the time.
Refunds
Prepaid and not confirmed within 24 hours: full refund.
Yes. Unused lessons in a pack are refundable pro-rata at the single-lesson rate, minus the lessons you have already taken.
Revisions on recorded work
Two revisions included; extra revisions $50.
Deposits on recorded work and events
Recorded work and events take 50 percent up front to hold the date, with the rest due on delivery. That deposit comes back in full if Brian cancels or misses an agreed deadline.
Ages
Adults 18 and over book themselves. Anyone under 18 is arranged directly with a guardian, and the guardian stays for the whole lesson.
Yes. Book it on the same form as everybody else and tick "I'm booking for someone under 18" - it asks for the parent or guardian's name and number, and Brian calls you before the first lesson. A parent or guardian stays for the whole lesson. Same prices as everyone else; for a very young child say so in the note and Brian will tell you what he would do.
What things cost
Prices are published, not quoted behind a call.
The full ladder is on the lessons page and the session drums page. Events are quoted per date, because the number depends on how long, how many people and whether a kit has to be carried up stairs.
Where lessons happen
Outdoor lessons take place at central Austin locations. You get the exact meeting spot as soon as the time is set, rather than reading it here, and no page on this site states a regular day, time or corner.
Your recordings and your song
On payment you own the performance Brian recorded for you outright. There is no royalty and no ownership share taken in your song. A credit is appreciated and never required.
Your details
What happens to anything you type into a form, how long it is kept and how to have it deleted is on the privacy page.
Anything not answered here
Ask before booking, and Brian will answer plainly rather than point at a clause. Every other question people actually ask is on the FAQ page.
Assembled in your browser, never printed in the page source - which is why it is behind a button.
